Activity 1:  Analysis of Technology (Phase 1: 20 mins, Phase 2: 15 Minutes, Whole Group 10 min.)

  • Phase 1: In assigned breakout rooms by library type, use this Google Sheet to see class member responses and share/add to Big Ideas by type: 

    • Self Select your breakout room: Public Children/Teen, Adult, Academic, Special, School K-12 

    • Scroll Down to find the Row to add your big ideas by your library type.

  • Phase 2: In assigned, mixed breakout room groups, compare all different types of libraries to share/add to Big Ideas Across All Libraries on the same document linked above.  

    • Scroll down to add your mixed groups ideas across all library types in your Room # section. 

  • What's next?  Complete your Quick Write and submit it to Canvas by next Tuesday. The Quick Write should include the following:

    • Not only the state of technology but how it is used for connections development 

    • A comparison of your library's state of technology to other libraries of its type 

    • A comparison of your library's state of technology to all types of libraries being studied in class. (There are 30 libraries being studied in this class.)

Complete the Quick Write on a Google Doc and then share the URL in Canvas.  Due 1 week after Workshop 3 

Activity 2: Compare and Contrast Infographic: The Current Collection Map (10 min. whole group, 15 min. Break out groups) 

• 1 student can volunteer to demonstrate the infographic compare and contrast with the whole group (10 minutes) 

• Breakout Rooms with your library type group to give feedback to others students infographics (15 Minutes)

Activity 3:  Collection Mapping Phase 2 Presentation 3: The Proposed Collection Maps (10 min. whole group)  

• What can we propose for the proposed collection map?

• Decisions to make: Build; Maintain; De-emphasize? Who makes that decision?

• Re-read Chapters 5, 7-10 to help create your presentation 3. 

• Have your rough draft Presentation 3 ready to share for Workshop 4 and add it to your slide in the Gallery.  

• List of Infographic Programs. You can also use PowerPoint and Google Slides (just change slide size)

• Submit your Tech Quick Write 1 week after Workshop 3.
