In addition to the textbook, you must read and take notes on a variety of materials outside of class. These may include journal articles, videos, chapters you might read in a collection development text other than the one for this class, and any other interesting resources that you find that help you understand the role of libraries and their collections these days.
These materials should total the equivalent of a 150 pages.
These notes can be as brief or detailed as you wish
For each item, record the citation, number of equivalent pages and a very brief annotation.
The Virtual Library Guide website (free) at: https://sites.google.com/view/virtual-library-guide/home can be used as a resource. Ensure you spend time perusing any site before counting it towards your reading.
Select an AI tool to create a personal research assistant.
Upload at least 3 articles or reading sources from your selected readings to your AI assistant.
Ask the AI assistant to proved notes, number of pages and a reference/citation for each item.
Compare the AI-generated notes and citations with your own.
Write a brief paragraph reflecting on the use of AI as a research assistant and its benefits. Include the name of the AI tool you used.
