Accessibility
Reminder
Dr. L is legally blind and using a screen reader, so some things will need to be approached from an accessibility model. Visually appealing can sometimes sacrifice accessibility.
Screen readers can struggle to read hyperlinked words, so having the whole link spelled out is easier. Don't link to separate documents, put all images, documents, tables and charts directly into your site. Screen readers can't read images, so embedding documents is better.
Check out this resource on How to Make Your Site More Accessible
This is the most common issue many students have. You must have your permissions set so "anyone with a link can view" and/or "public" access.
For Google Sites:
Click the little person icon with the plus symbol in the upper right hand corner
In the drop down menu under "General Access" click the down carrot and choose "public" and "viewer"
Click "Done"
Make sure you are publishing your site and sending Dr. L the URL to the published site
Please note: Dr. Loertscher is not a SJSU email, so you must have your permissions set to "public" or he will not be able to see your link and it will come up as broken on his end.
For Google Documents:
Click the blue "share" button in the upper right hand corner
Under General access click the down carrot next to "restricted"
Click "Anyone with the link"
Click Viewer
Click Done
