The Maintenance WG is motivated by a few use cases including the maintenance strategy assurance, asset operator failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and predictive maintenance. Some of the initial terms considered for formalization within the WG are below. Additionally, terms from the ISO standard 14224 for collection and exchange of reliability and maintenance data in the Oil & Gas industry will be considered. The WG will validate that ontology can help unite information about maintenance strategy and maintenance tasks that are typically kept in different computer systems such that reasoning about, for example, the compatibility between tasks and strategy, and most likely failure mode of a failure can be achieved.
