As we make our plans for the weekend, or have definitely already made those plans, let’s take this morning and this day to sit in the stillness of God. We are going to be tempted today to think only of the things we have given up or added to our lives because that is the distraction the evil one wants us to have. He wants us to think about how hard things are for ourselves—how we wish we could have something or didn’t have to do something. Again, God has made this day and blessed us enough to be a part of it!
We need to remember to sit in the stillness of Christ. Give your prayers to Him and let Him take them. Let Him hear your pain and your worries. He reminds us in our scripture today to go to Him, and He will give us rest. Though we walk through the valley, though at times we are in great pain and sadness or are really just struggling to deny ourselves, let it be His name we praise even more. He promises to release us from the grip of this world, and that is true peace.
