12 1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Prayer
Jesus, we give thanks today. We take our eyes off our situations and look to You. You have shown us the way, and You continue to work in our lives every moment. Help us to trust in You more today. We give You our fears, our sadness, and our anxieties. You calm raging storms with a single word. Breathe new life into us so that we can give that to others today. Help us fix our eyes on You. We lift up those who are really struggling today whom we know. Be with us all and give us hope in eternal life through You.
In Your mighty name we pray. Amen.
Each day is a great day to take a look around us, see what God has done, and give thanks. Our situations all look very different, but it's all a part of the same story. Yes, in this broken world we will have struggles, sickness, and death, but as we fix our eyes on Jesus, remember today what He promises us: eternal life through Him!
There is nothing that can give us more hope today than Jesus's words that bring new life. Someone is out there right now whom we are going to bump into today who is really struggling, and we probably don't even know it. Are our minds set on how bad we have it or how frustrated we are with our situations? Or can we lift our eyes to Jesus, share His love with those around us, and give great praise today for what He has done that cannot be taken away from us, no matter what goes on in our lives?
