SEP Engagement is a platform for 2nd year scholarship recipients to connect with changemakers in NGO or social enterprise to gain hands-on experience in organisation’s operation and contribution of ideas for the organisation. Scholars who join SEP Engagement will also have the opportunity to serve different social causes based on the organisation. In short, it can also be seen as an internship programme that benefits both the scholars and also the NGO which will be carried out for 10 months.
Changemakers provide an opportunity for the scholars to have an overview of operations of the NGO or a social enterprise. Scholars will have the chance to walk into the operation to see the impact of their work. Through this involvement, they can understand better to see how they can contribute themselves to be part of the organisation.
On the other hand, Changemakers have access to extra resources. Scholars can also provide a fresh perspective to problems or plan for projects. Changemakers can attract talents and also future collaborations to expand their initiatives. Changemakers can also make an impact and engage current youths to promote bigger change in social causes that they are serving in.
