Exchange students on the Sciences Po program attend an introductory week aimed to exchange students coming to study on Science Po's Paris-based campus. This introduction week is organized at the start of each semester in order to give students all the key information and tools that will contribute to make their stay at Sciences Po a success.
After orientation courses begin. Courses are offered in the fields of Political Science, French/European Studies, Economics and Business, International Relations, History, Law, Literature/Culture, Languages, and Science and Sustainable Development. Students will participate in lectures (Cours magistraux) which emphasize written work, and smaller discussion sections (Conférences de méthode), which emphasize oral expression.
A full course listing may be found on the Sciences Po web site
Courses at Sciences Po are offered in both French and English. Approximately 50% of available courses are offered in English. Students planning to take courses in French must take French 414 at Illinois prior to departure.
A maximum of 36 semester hours may be earned over the year abroad.
