17-year-old track and field athlete and Palarong Pambansa 2023 goldmedalist in triple jump, Marc Angelo L. Cabiluna from Villanueva Senior High School, is looking forward to striving for another ticket to the Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association and continuing to the national game.
Despite the innate pressure of defending his title as both the regional and national champion, the Grade 11 student resorts to turning his worries into positive insights in order to motivate himself.
“Yes, naa gyud ang pressure, pero pag imo lang pullihan og positive mawala rana tanan pressure,” he shared.
Cabiluna has been consecutively qualifying for the Palaro Games since he was in sixth grade, but his first-ever medal was from last year’s feat in Marikina City, which makes all the eyes of expectations lay on him.
“Wala koy expectations na mudaog kay dulaon paman gyud, pero ang buhaton lang gyud is focus, enjoy ang dula, dayun atimanon ang kaugalingon aron makuha ang gina-expect,” he said.
