Team iGEM RUM consists of: 15 undergraduate research students, at least 2 professors/advisors, 9 undergraduate intern students and 6 pre-undergraduate students. Thus, our team is subdivided into 3 branches: Executive, Research/Development and the Collaborators Branch. Only the Research and Development Branch members, the Executive Branch members (15 students total) and the Chairpeople (2 professors total) will have the official delegation to represent the team at Massachusetts in the iGEM Gian Jamboree 2019.
The main function of the Executive Branch is, but isn’t limited to, serve as project managers and leaders for the team in all aspects. The Executive Branch is composed of a: Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Communications Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Scientific Officer and at least two Chairpersons.
The main function of the Research and Development Branch is, but isn’t limited to, research project ideas and development. The Research and Development Branch is composed of the Chief Scientific Officer and 4 specialty-joint sub teams in: Biology, Engineering, Programing and Social Impact.
The main function of the Collaborators Branch is, but isn’t limited to, train and become highly qualified members for future team iGEM RUM vacant positions. The Collaborators Branch is composed by the COO and at least 5 team-fixed undergraduate interns, 3 team-rotating undergraduate interns and 6 pre-undergraduate interns. Graduate Student Advisors are also under the Collaborators Branch.
