Fully a third of women experience postpartum incontinence.  Although not painful or life-threatening, urinary incontinence has an insidious way of affecting quality of life, causing women to avoid social interaction and jobs out of fear of accidents.

Many doctors  diagnose recurrent UTIs and overprescribe antibiotics.   Some urologists  operate mills offering  injections of Botox and bulking agents.  Transvaginal mesh procedures can cause a lifetime of expensive complications.  Few  refer  leaky ladies for pelvic floor PT.

I propose to lead a one-hour workshop where we'll watch  two videos and felt bladder purses.


Female incontinence is the loss of bladder control in women. It is not uncommon to lose urine during pregnancy or with urinary tract infections temporarily. There are many reasons you might develop urinary incontinence as a chronic problem. The most common causes are pelvic floor trauma with childbirth, menopause, hysterectomy, obesity, cognitive impairment, chronic cough and constipation.

There are three types of female incontinence:


Pelvic floor physical therapy can give women with urinary incontinence the skills they need to regain bladder control. It works by improving the strength and function of the muscles that support the bladder, urethra and other pelvic organs.
