Activate self-monitoring system through learning log

As a world language teacher, one thing I keep asking myself is how can I help my students to activate their self-monitoring system so that they won't make the same mistakes and will be more aware of accuracy. With the guidance and support from our school's Assessment Fellow group, I conducted this mini project trying to find out whether keeping a learning log would be helpful.

Special thanks to my mentors Karen Strobel and Anastasia Karaglani, who provided me with a lot of research materials and guided me to analyze the outcomes.


作為外語老師,我想我們都感同身受,到底該怎麼做才能幫助學生避免相同的錯誤一犯再犯,我們希望能找到一種方法,有效地幫助學生減少偏誤產生 – 就像我們題目所定的「喚醒他們的自我監控機制」。在這篇報告中,我們嘗試讓學生定期自己紀錄寫作上產生的偏誤,並試圖在學習反思中從學習者的角度理解偏誤頻發的背後原因,在一學期的紀錄後,檢視成果。從這份小計畫的成果看起來,偏誤紀錄的使用在敝校初級階段是能夠有效提升學習者在正確性上的意識。
