Bring Design Thinking to the World Language Classroom (2021 ACTFL Convention)
Imagine what it would be like when learners use the target language in the Maker Space and use Design Thinking to improve projects. Collaborating with my colleagues, Elaine Parke and Rob Morrill, we introduced the Design Thinking Framework to our students and encouraged our learners to use this Framework to design a "dream room" for their assigned partner.

試想,當語言教師與學習者一起走入創作實驗室,學習運用「設計思維」來做報告,會是什麼樣的情境?這篇報告探究的是如何將「設計思維」帶入到課室中介紹給學生,並設計適當的語言任務讓學生能真正學以致用。
在本校中文1B的課程中,我們的學生需要運用設計思維來替他們的夥伴設計一間對方所需要的臥室。在過程中,學生需要設身處地地站在對方的角度設計,我們再透過一步步的語言練習從訪問到發表,讓學生無縫融入目標語。
