AP Seminar

Though we don’t have Chinese AP courses in our school (we do AT course instead), I still have a strong urge to learn more about AP because this is a common topic that families would ask for. I attended the AP seminar in 2017 and felt I learned so much from our instructor Chang Xiaolin Laoshi and other participants.

In this 4-day seminar, Chang laoshi started from the format of AP, not only giving us a very clear concept about the structure, but also sharing her own curriculum with us. The following days, we deconstructed the format section by section and brainstormed how to prepare our students to have better performance in each part. The last day is for group presentations. Each group was assigned a topic to develop a unit that supports our students in all 3 modes as well as in AP’s structures.
