Setting the Scene

• The Bedlam is headed to Bamberga, transporting a machine operator from Europa named “Bevel” Collee (given name Alexandru).

• Bevel’s wife/significant other/whatever is expecting, with a due-date in a couple of weeks.

• Bevel was originally going to catch a regular transport to Ceres, then another to Bamberga, which would’ve gotten him there on or just before the due-date; the ride on the Bedlam will get him there earlier than originally planned.

• Bevel’s very happy to get there earlier, and would like to let someone on Bamberga (not the mother-to-be, he wants to surprise her) know that he’s arriving earlier than originally planned.

As the session starts, it’s a couple of days into the trip. Mid-trip turnaround is in just under 4½ days.

Grax noticed recently that Bevel seemed… fascinated, maybe? Intrigued? Definitely interested in the Bedlam’s original ship-plaque. It’s still mounted to the wall in the galley/commons area, showing the original information for the Diligent:
