Provenance Chain: A technological tracking-process, much like contemporary blockchain processes, that provides step-by-step tracking and verification information for messages and hard goods as they move through their respective communications and shipping networks. In essence, a Provenance Chain can be used to verify how a tagged item got from any point to any other point in its journey, frequently with the names of people or places that were at various points of authority or transfer.
