Overview

• Bamberga is a rock, not nearly as rich as Psyche from a metals standpoint.

• It was settled early in mankind’s faring into the Belt, probably because its eccentric orbit made it an easier asteroid to get to early on.

• Its population is somewhere in the 40-50,000 range.

• It was originally a UNSF effort, but when Earth went dark, there was some contention between the UNSF staff and Hephæstus Interplanetary’s population there, that ultimately led to some riots and violence.

Aspects and Troubles

History of Violence: The turmoil that happened right after Earth went dark still flavors a lot of the attitudes here. Company security is noticeably more active than many places elsewhere in the Belt, though there’s not been any significant or out-of-the-ordinary violence since. Still, there’s an underlying expectation that it could happen again — it’s happened before.
