Let's be honest here: The Belt is the largest concentration of humanity off Earth. It's far from being a paradise, but it's mostly sustainable, with water and organics mined from the outer planets and their moons. After Earth went dark, the various corporate entities that built most of the infrastructure gradually merged into a single entity — Hephæstus Interplanetary — cementing their power and turning the majority of the Belt and the outer planet facilities into the largest company town structure in the history of Humanity.

Psyche is a mining and heavy-industry facility, the primary source for base metals like iron and nickel.
Primary shipyard of the Belt (with just enough gravity at the surface — 0.029g, and an escape velocity of almost exactly ½km/sec — that things won't drift away), also a major technology hub for micro-gravity- and vacuum-reliant industries. Extensive tunneled complex below the surface.

Bubble-formed agricultural facility, originally the asteroid Metis. Still being set up with soil and other agricultural needs, but has approximately 2.7% of its total surface-area arable and producing at this point which means there's about 7¼ Colorados worth of useful farm-land, if nothing goes awry. New Kansas is approximately 440 km long, and averages around 451 km in diameter, internally, with an outer shell that's over 7½ km thick.

Vesta, as one of the largest and most accessible achondrite asteroids, is a main source in the belt for some of the rarer materials needed in space — particularly osmium, which is a key material for CETIL drive systems. Its status as one of the larger asteroids, regardless of its composition, also made it an early desirable target for building large-population facilities in space, and it boasts the largest single human population in the Belt as a result.
Hephæstus’ main offices in the Belt are on Vesta.

Formerly a research facility, abandoned because of radioactive contamination that apparently interferes with CETIL drives. Independent (non-company) salvage vessels have consistently failed to return if they get within the radius of EM disruption. Hephæstus does not approve any flight-plans to it for their own vessels.
