Soulbonding is when a spirit (or spirits, in the case of cross tribe soulbonding) intertwine the souls of two to three individuals. Soulbonding is considered to be a very serious act of intimacy between cats and isn't to be taken lightly. These individuals now are closer than ever on a spiritual level, able to reach new levels of power. With their souls intertwined, they are able to feel each other's presence, able to tell their partner's mood, and are able to communicate with each other telepathically. With a soulbond, you are able to unlock an array of powers that are unique to your bond - whether it be from the same Tribe or not.
Since Soulbonding is taken very seriously by the Spirits, they may or may not deny the tying of souls if they deem the souls wouldn't work well together.
[Types of Soulbonds]
There are two types of soulbonds that can be found throughout Corondryx:
1. Two-Way Soulbonds
Two-Way soulbonds are strictly between two cats.
2. Three-Way Soulbonds
Three-Way soulbonds are strictly between three cats.
[Skill Trees]
Depending on the type of soulbond, characters will have access to 5 new skills that they may use. These skill trees vary in different ways depending on the type of soulbond.
[Same Tribe / Different Branch Soulbonds]
These bonds occur between two cats who are in the same Tribe, but have different branches (Primary/Secondary). The respective skill trees listed at the bottom of their overarching Tribe skill trees.
You can find these individually listed in the Placeholder page.
[Same Tribe / Same Branch Soulbonds]
These bonds occur between two cats who are in the same Tribe and have the same branch (Primary/Primary or Secondary/Secondary).
[SKILL 1]
Telepathic Connection
Through their connection, the pair have a telepathic connection that works regardless of the distance. As long as both cats have their powers and are living, they can communicate to one another. The amount of information can be sent over and the kind of information depends on the mastery of the user that is using it - starting with simple stills to small snippets of videos to borrowing each other’s eyes, this skill brings the soul bonded closer than ever.
Novice: +1 stat point
Proficient: +2 stat points
Adept: +3 stat points
Master: +4 stat points
Energy Cost: N/A
Additional Notes: These points are lost if the soul bond breaks.
[SKILL 2]
Boost
The power or effect of a skill used is boosted by sharing the same branch, making the users able to boost each other’s skills immensely. Which powers the user may affect depends on mastery level. To be able to use this both soul bonds have to share knowledge of the skill. Meaning if they want to increase skill 3, they also have to have skill 3 unlocked.
Novice: Doubles the effects of a skill. Can only boost skills 1-5.
Proficient: Doubles the effects of a skill. Can only boost skills 1-8.
Adept: Doubles the effects of a skill. Can only boost skills 1-10.
Master: Doubles the effects of a skill. Can only boost skills 1-14.
Energy Cost: 6 (shared: 3)
Additional Notes: Can be recast on several skills, but casting on 1 skill alone won’t stack the boost. Boost lasts the entire fight, but falls off once the combat is over. Both members MUST have the skill unlocked.
[SKILL 3]
You are Me, I am You
Due to the similar nature of their souls and sharing the same tribe/branch, they can swap their minds and inhabit their partner's body, amplifying their powers. This can be done regardless of distance and as long as the two cats have their powers and are alive. The amount of time this can be sustained depends on the user's mastery. Note- it can only be sustained up to the lowest level of mastery between the two. If one user is novice, then it can only last at the novice level, regardless of the mastery of the other. Novice users can amplify for five minutes. Proficient users can amplify for ten minutes. Adept users can amplify for fifteen minutes. Master users can amplify for twenty minutes. This power can be used twice per day regardless of mastery.
Novice: Amplifies numbers by +2.
Proficient: Amplifies numbers by +3.
Adept: Amplifies numbers by +4.
Master: Amplifies numbers by +5.
Energy Cost: 4
Additional Notes: Amplifies usually last the entire fight unless reverted by the pair. Note that distance doesn’t matter, so the partner doesn’t have to be in the fight for you to use the skill and temporarily borrow their skills. For percentages each 1 counts for 5%.
[SKILL 4]
Combination
By your powers combined, you can call more than one skill at a time. (While this can normally be done, more can be used by calling this skill- counts do not include this skill) Distance does not matter as long as both cats are alive and have access to their powers. Mastery of skill is applied normally. Up to four skills can be called at once from different areas of the shared branch.
Novice: Can use up to 2 skills. -2 to all energy costs of the skills used.
Proficient: Can use up to 3 skills. -2 to all energy costs of the skills used.
Adept: Can use up to 3 skills. -3 to all energy costs of the skills used.
Master: Can use up to 4 skills. -3 to all energy costs of the skills used.
Energy Cost: Skill Cost
Additional Notes: Going in negatives for energy cost refunds said energy cost. If the skill costs 1 to cast and you’re a novice (-2 to energy cost), you will actually gain 1 energy! All skills must be cast in quick succession following the casting of this skill. Can be used in combination with "You are Me, I am You" to access your partner's skills instead.
[SKILL 5]
Yours for mine, Mine for Yours
Due to the combined nature of their souls, soul bonds can transfer wounds and statuses. They may either transfer either to their partner or take them from their partner. The bonded cats must be within a four foot radius to activate this skill and have access to their powers. The kinds of wounds/statuses that can be swapped depends on the mastery of the skill. Novice users can swap statuses only (not including faint). Proficient users can swap statuses (not including faint) or minor wounds. Adept users can swap statuses (not including faint), minor, or major wounds. Master users can swap statuses, minor, major, serious wounds or, when necessary, their life. (In Dungeon, swapping their life merely swaps the "faint" status and not their actual life. In RP, it swaps their life forces. The injured cat loses all wounds/statuses and the other dies.)
Novice: Trades up to 6 HP to the other.
Proficient: Trades up to 8 HP to the other.
Adept: Trades up to 10 HP to the other.
Master: Trades up to 12 HP to the other, can take their place as "fainted".
Energy Cost: 3
Additional Notes: If the soulbond is fainted, trading HP to them will not work. Only a master may trade this condition to themselves. Define the amount of HP you wish to transfer. Soulbond must be present in combat for this to work.
[Cross-Tribe Soulbonds]
These bonds occur between two cats who are from different Tribes, regardless of their branches.
[SKILL 1]
Telepathic Connection
Through their connection, the pair have a telepathic connection that works regardless of the distance. As long as both cats have their powers and are living, they can communicate to one another. The amount of what can be sent over and the kind of information depends on the mastery of the user that is using it. Starting with simple stills to small snippets of videos to borrowing each other’s eyes, this skill brings the soul bonded closer than ever.
Novice: +1 stat point
Proficient: +2 stat points
Adept: +3 stat points
Master: +4 stat points
Energy Cost: N/A
Additional Notes: These points are lost if the soul bond breaks.
[SKILL 2]
Lend Me a Paw
The user can borrow a stat or stats from their soul bond. This skill can be used regardless of distance as long as the two have their powers and are both alive. The user can pick which stat or stats they borrow. However, the other will inherit the user's stats in the trade. This can be used only once per day, regardless of mastery.
Novice: Can swap 1 stat.
Proficient: Can swap 2 stats.
Adept: Can swap 3 stats.
Master: Can swap 4 stats.
Energy Cost: 4
Additional Notes: Can be used even if the soulbond is not in the same dungeon. However, if used while the soulbond is in another parallel dungeon, it may have unusual effects. This skill includes the stats Arcane and Toughness.
[SKILL 3]
No Limit!
Drawing upon their knowledge of each other, the user is able to pull the element of their partner and weave it with their own, creating a dual-elemental blast of sorts. This can have all sorts of unique and spectacular effects, most notably so the brilliant display of colour that usually comes with it. Some have made competition out of this, striving to create the most beautiful light-shows with new and fascinating combinations of skills. Creativity and knowledge are the only limitations.
Novice: Combines two skills - 1 from each tree. The skills are amplified (each) by 3.
Proficient: Combines two skills - 1 from each tree. The skills are amplified (each) by 4.
Adept: Combines two skills - 1 from each tree. The skills are amplified (each) by 5.
Master: Combines two skills - 1 from each tree. The skills are amplified (each) by 6.
Energy Cost: 7
Additional Notes: Percentage-based skills gain 5% per amplifiable point (f.ex. novices would gain 15% extra in said skill). Skills used must be unlocked on both ends, effects are taken from the mastery level of each cat in said skill(s).
[SKILL 4]
Skill Swap
The bonded pair gains access to each other's skill trees. Distance does not matter as long as both cats are alive and have their powers. Due to the unique nature of their intertwined souls, they are able to call on each other's spirit. This enables them to briefly tap into the other’s element and call forth one of their skills. Only one skill can be called at a time.
Novice: Casts one of their partner’s skills. -1 energy cost.
Proficient: Casts one of their partner’s skills. -2 energy cost.
Adept: Casts one of their partner’s skills. -3 energy cost.
Master: Casts one of their partner’s skills. -4 energy cost.
Energy Cost: Cost of partner’s skill minus proficiency reduction.
Additional Notes: Can borrow skills regardless of whether both partners are in the fight or not. If the energy cost enters negatives, this amount is refunded to the caster.
[SKILL 5]
Yours for mine, Mine for Yours
Due to the combined nature of their souls, soul bonds can transfer wounds and statuses. They may either transfer either to their partner or take them from their partner. Novice: Trades up to 6 HP to the other.
Proficient: Trades up to 8 HP to the other.
Adept: Trades up to 10 HP to the other.

Energy Cost: 3
Additional Notes: If the soul bond is fainted, trading HP to them will not work. Only a master may trade this condition to themselves. Define the amount of HP you wish to transfer. Soul bond must be present in combat for this to work.
[Three-Way Soulbonds]
These bonds occur between three cats, regardless of their Tribes or branches.
[SKILL 1]
Telepathic Connection
Through their connection, the trio have a telepathic connection that works regardless of the distance. As long as all three cats have their powers and are living, they can communicate to one another.
[SKILL 2]
Lend Me Two Paws!
The user can borrow a stat or stats from their soul bonds. This skill can be used regardless of distance as long as the three have their powers and are both alive.
Additional Notes: Can be used even if the soul bond is not in the same dungeon. However, if used while the soul bond is in another parallel dungeon, it may have unusual effects. This skill includes the stats Arcane and Toughness.
[SKILL 3]
Switch Around
The trio of soulbonds become capable of accessing each others’ skill trees and, as such, are able to use the corresponding powers their soulbond has already unlocked, up to their respective mastery level. Those soulbound to a leader may only access the leader’s original branch, not both.
Novice: Swaps skill trees and amplifies numbers by +2.
Proficient: Swaps skill trees and amplifies numbers by +3.
Adept: Swaps skill trees and amplifies numbers by +4.
Master: Swaps skill trees and amplifies numbers by +5.
Energy Cost: 4
Additional Notes: Swap usually lasts the entire fight unless reverted by the trio. Note that distance doesn’t matter, so the partner doesn’t have to be in the fight for you to use the skill and temporarily borrow their skills. For percentages each 1 counts for 5%.
[SKILL 4]
Triple Combo!
By your powers combined, you can call more than one skill at a time. (While this can normally be done, more can be used by calling this skill- counts do not include this skill) Distance does not matter as long as the three cats are alive and have access to their powers. Mastery of skill is applied normally. Up to four skills can be called at once from different areas of the shared branch.

In the event that a character dies using this skill, the soulbond is considered broken. The two living cats will revert to a normal 2-character soulbond that corresponds with their respective powers (ie. Same Tribe + Different Branch / Same Branch / Cross-Tribe), though they will retain any mastery they had of the 5 skills when it transfers. If you wish for the bond to be completely broken, please note the admins.
[Breaking Soulbonds]
Breaking a soulbond between characters is a gruesome task that leads to a series of long lasting effects on the parties involved. Breaking Soulbonds isn’t recommended unless necessary, due to the fact the souls are forcibly ripped apart from each other and damages the parties’ souls for a while. Soulbond breaking can either be a mutual happening or not.
In the event one cat from a three-way soulbond dies, leaves, or otherwise breaks their part of the bond, the other two may maintain a two-way bond or choose to have their bond completely broken; this is up to member discretion and should be made known to the admins.
Breaking A Soulbond can happen in 3 ways:
Death: When a cat dies, the ripping of the souls is more intense than breaking it off. It leads to more intense side effects. This does not apply to leaders with multiple lives unless it is their last life.
Leaving: If a cat leaves Corondryx with no intention of returning, their soulbond behaves as if it has been broken; upon the other cat’s return to Corondryx, the bond naturally repairs itself. Should a cat wish to permanently break the bond after their partner leaves, they may consult their spirit.
Manually: While the other three are more common, sometimes extenuating circumstances lead to soulbond partners wishing to end their connection to one another. This can be done by consulting your spirit and asking for it to break- be warned, though, as the spirits don’t take this option lightly!
[Side Effects of a Soulbond Break]
When a soulbond is broken, all remaining parties immediately feel that they are missing something. They are in a lot of pain - both physically and mentally. Below are the series of side effects one can experience after breaking a soulbond:
Feeling of emptiness
Loss of purpose
Intense physical pain
Intense mental pain
Glitchy or weakened powers
Uncontrollable power usage
Inability to soulbond with another for 1 year IC (Required)
[In-Character Information]
Soulbonds can feel how the other Soulbond is feeling at any time, as well as feel the physical state they’re in. They can feel when the other one gets hurt or sick, and can also feel their heartbeat alongside their own.
Soulbonds have a strong telepathic connection. However, the connection can be muffled or “static” if one of the soulbonds ventures beyond Corondryx’s borders.
Soulbonds can hear the other soulbond’s thoughts.
[Requesting a Soulbond]
If you wish to Soulbond with another cat, you must have 3 completed and canon interactions with your character and theirs (can be RPs or art collaborations) and note it in your Soulbond Request Note.
Additionally, characters must have been in the group for at least 2 months before requesting a soulbond.

[Q&A]
[Can Soulbonds have kits?]
Answer: Yes! There are no side effects to soulbonds having kittens with each other.
[How many times can a cat soulbond with each other?]
Answer: Two times. Soulbond breaking is intense and isn’t something to be taken lightly. Should you break off a soulbond with a cat only to soulbond with them again, it’ll be the last time you’ll be able to soulbond with them. Once you break it off a second time, you cannot reconnect the soulbond ever again.
[If I soulbond with a silver, do I get access to both their skill trees?]
Answer: No. You only get access to the leader’s original skill tree.
[If a silver dies but is revived, does their soulbond with another cat become broken?]
Answer: No. If the leader permanently dies, the soulbond is broken. However, if a leader dies and is revived, the parties involved will feel their pain and death, but will not have their soulbond broken.
[Can a Cat join a 2 way soulbond?]
Answer: Yes. It is not considered a soulbond break rather than a joining of another soul. Your characters must have 3 interactions with the joining 3rd member in order to soulbond with them.
[Does exile break a soulbond?]
Answer: No. While Spirits are the ones who initially tie cats' souls together, a cat being exiled/losing their loyalty to their Spirit does not break their soulbond. They will no longer be able to use any Tribe powers, but they can still communicate with their soulbond partner(s), feel their heartbeat, etc.
