The Land of Corondryx
Corondryx is the land all Tribe-cats live in! This is the place every one of your active characters will reside and interact until they either die or leave the group. Some events and dungeons that are run might take place outside of Corondryx, but other than those instances, cats do not leave the map space unless they are leaving the group.
For more information on the terrain and different labeled parts of the map, please click on the map itself and read the description!

Outsiders
Outsiders consist of loners, wanderers, and exiles. They have no set territory and often wander the neutral lands. While some may choose to band together and sort out their own hierarchy, there are no set ranks, leaders, or Spirits for them.
Wanderers and Exiles bear the tattoos of their respective Spirits- Wanderers' tattoos will be grey, and those of Exiles will be black.
The three categories of outsiders are as follows:
Loners - Cats who bear no mark, and choose to wander the neutral lands as they please.
Wanderers - Cats who received a mark and powers from one of the Spirits, but chose not to belong to a Tribe. Their powers are halved.
Exiles - Cats who were once part of a Tribe, but have since been banished from it. They cannot access their powers.
Outsiders rely on themselves and their neighbors for getting food. Their method of getting food correlates to five ranks: Herbalist, Hunter, Fisher, Forager, Scavenger.

[HOUSING & LIVING SITUATIONS]
Cats within Corondryx live in varying den styles. While tattooless loners may live in traditional Warrior cat style dens dug out of foliage, Tribe cats tend to have individual human-level rooms or homes within their Tribes. For Tribe housing, please refer to each Tribe's individual culture page!
When it comes to non-Tribe cats who live within Corondryx, there are many ways for them to make their homes. The following is a list of rules and information pertaining to that!
1. Outsiders must have access to appropriate Tribe powers to build elaborate homes for themselves. There are often Tribe cats willing to build cabins for outsiders, so, provided you have someone's permission, you may claim your outsider has a cabin that was built by a Tribe cat. It's important to be realistic about if your outsider character could be approached by a Tribe cat, though- former nulls and exiles will obviously have a much harder time seeking refuge within the borders of Corondryx, and any Tribe cat caught harboring a known criminal risks getting caught. Without powers, it would take a very long time to build any kind of home beyond a basic Warriors-style den, and there wouldn't be a lot of details to it- while tattooless cats may have access to basic tools, they do not have extravagant materials to work with.
2. The homes built for outsiders shouldn't be overly large, usually studios or one-bedroom cabins at most. Larger multi-family homes should be run by admins first. Things such as castles or mansions would not be permissible.
3. Gates and fences cannot be built around large parts of land to claim territory for any cat(s). Your character may have a small fence for something like a vegetable garden, but something elaborate built to keep other cats out would raise flags.
4. Speaking of territory, characters cannot claim territory anywhere on the map. Admins retain the right to expand Tribe borders and/or create new locations within the borders of Corondryx at any time for Tribe advancement and plot reasons, and it would be a lot of hassle to contact every member who has a character living in x exact location to give warning or get permission to use that space. Characters who wish to claim any kind of territory may live off-map at the expense of leaving the group. Otherwise, it is assumed that outsider characters may need to relocate at any time. We're happy to have outsider characters in the group, but the Tribes have fought hard to defend these lands, and they will protect them at any cost. On the flipside of this, it is totally fine to claim an outsider lives near x landmark or in y area, as long as they aren't laying claim to an entire area and do not put up a fight IC without admin permission should we choose to use that space in the future.
5. While outsiders may live with or near each other at their roleplayers' discretion, it is important to note that they cannot form "groups" similar to Tribes or clans while on map. They should not have an official name, especially in regards to any specific location (ie. building a bunch of homes in one area and referring to it as "The Hub"), as this would imply the creation of a location and/or group, neither of which are permissible. Additionally, the cats cannot have official ranks, appointed leaders, or tattoo-like markings to identify themselves. It's best to think of these living situations more like characters living in the same cul-de-sac, rather than them living in an entire city or group housing.
6. Following the above, characters who wish to form any kind of group must do so off-map. However, it will still be considered unofficial and they cannot refer to themselves as any kind of Tribe, and cannot be done while the characters are active in the group.
7. Any kind of housing situation that would go outside of these rules or toe the line of them must be run by admins with all of the details laid out in full so we can go over them with you. If you are not sure if your idea is within the rules, please speak with us first. It is much easier on us and you if you get permission for things before implementing them, as it otherwise runs the risk of us having to retcon things you may have established in-character already, and we do not wish to do that to anyone.
We recommend taking a look at the Personal Plot Guide for further information if there's any confusion!
[COMMUNICATION]
Havensake characters come in all shapes and forms, which means they also communicate in a lot of different ways! There is, of course, basic cat tongue (spoken even by non-cat NPCs at times), but there are also other official and unofficial methods of communication!
The most common of these is Corondryx's Written Language, taught across the Tribes so that most cats now understand how to write and read at a basic level.
There are several characters also teaching sign language courses, of which there are no official guides for, but it makes for great flavor text!
[TRUE NAMES]
Every living creature has a True name. This name is tied to their soul, and is typically different from the name they were given at birth, or otherwise chose for themself. True names are exclusive to the individual, meaning no character will have the same True name as another.
True names are often kept close to one's heart. They can be used to manipulate the soul and body by creatures or secondary Shadow-Tribers, and because of these dangers, giving out true names is considered a great deal of trust.
To read more on True names, and to see what names are currently taken, please check out the Masterlist of Names.
[RELATIONSHIPS & SOULBONDS]
Cats from the same or differing Tribes may choose to enter relationships with each other, or even become mates and/or have kittens! Leaders will need to approve Cross-Tribe mateships. You can find more information on appropriate and inappropriate relationships, mateships, and how to have kittens in the Relationships journal!
Soulbonding is the act of intertwining your soul with 1-2 other cats, allowing you to communicate telepathically, share emotions and pain, and use each other's powers. Soulbonds must be approved by the involved Spirits. It is considered one of the most remarkable things a Tribe cat can experience. To read more on soulbonds, including the process and skill trees, please check out the Soulbonds doc!
[NANDRYX]
The Tribes originated in Nandryx, which unfortunately succumbed to a plague. Many cats perished, and the land began to crumble with them. In a last-ditch effort to save their children, the Spirits of Old sacrificed themselves to create and maintain the Door. The Door is a one-way portal within Nandryx that leads into Corondryx. It purifies any cats who carry the plague, and is open for eternity. Once they have passed through to Corondryx, cats cannot return to Nandryx.
[SPIRITS & TOTEMS]
While it is not common, sometimes excruciating circumstances may cause the death of a Spirit- this typically happens when the Spirit is defending their children. Upon their death, the cats bearing the mark of that Spirit will lose both their tattoos and their powers. However, thankfully, death is not inherently permanent for a Spirit- they will always be reborn with a new name, personality, and, often, a new appearance. Their powers may shift slightly, but will retain the same core element, and the Spirit will have all the memories of their predecessors.
You can view every existing Spirit here!
Spirits may address their children in dreams, play a big part in choosing new Silvers and Golds, give Silvers their 9 lives, and can be spoken to using their respective totems. The totems of the Seven are in the Meadow of Serenity, and each Spirit also has a totem located in or near their respective Tribe's camp.
The totems can be found here (art by Sun--Ray):
[GATHERINGS]
Once per season, the tribes meet together at the Meadow of Serenity. This typically happens on the second weekend of the first month of the season! Most cats will attend the gathering, to see their friends, hear news of the Tribes, or, for kittens, to get their tattoos and True names.
After the cats have settled into the Meadow, the leaders will go one by one to give news of their Tribes. This consists of anything important that has happened since the previous gathering- events that have transpired, character promotions, new litters, etc. The leaders go in alphabetical order of the Tribes- so Air first, and Water last.
After this, the leaders step back to allow the Ceremony of the Third Moon to commence. This ceremony, as its name suggests, is for all three-month-old kittens! The kittens will often feel beckoned to one totem in particular, and, upon touching it, will receive a white tattoo, though they will not yet gain any powers. Sometimes a kitten may find themself confused, and it is not uncommon for them to go around to each totem until one provides them with their tattoo.
Once this is done, the young kittens return to their families, and the Ceremony of Light begins. Each leader opens themself up to possession by their respective Spirit, who, in their place, will go up to every six-month-old kitten who received their tattoo at the previous gathering. The Spirit will reveal to each kitten their True name, thereby activating their powers. Once the gathering ends, all six-month-old kittens who gained their True names will begin their apprenticeship, and must accompany their new Tribes back home.
Loners and wanderers are permitted to attend gatherings, invited or not, permitted they do not stir up trouble, are not wanted criminals, and do not have black tattoos (exiles). If your character is going to cause trouble, or is a criminal/exile, please open a plot ticket to discuss with staff beforehand so we can keep an eye on it (since the leaders/deputies/etc would have to take care of it in character).
[LAWS]
Every cat in the Tribes is held to the standard of the Law of 7. If broken, they are subject to punishment. This can be determined by their respective leader, or may be taken to trial. Trial is often held among the seven leaders with detectives from Void-Tribe helping the case. Witnesses may be called on as well. In rare cases, the Spirits have been known to get involved.
The Law of 7 is listed in this collapsed group!
[Law 1]
One's tribe and spirit above all else.
Proposed by the Shadow Spirit, a cat must place their tribe over their personal feelings towards other tribes and cats of other tribes. If a cat wishes to mate with a cat from another tribe, they must get permission from their leaders and spirits. If the leaders agree to allow it but the spirits do not, the mateship cannot take place. If the leaders don't allow it but the spirits do, the mateship takes place. A cat's very being, their soul, is tied to their spirit. This connection is represented by their tattoo and this tattoo assigns their tribe. To place a tribe over one's tribe is to insult your own spirit.
[Law 2]
Killing another cat, without good reason, is punishable to the highest extent.
Proposed by the Light Spirit, all lives are precious but especially those of tribe cats. Each cat houses their unique connection with their spirit, a part of the spirit, if you will. Once this cat dies that part dies with them. This is a direct attack on that cat's spirit. Atonement is at the discretion of the tribes involved and their spirits.
[Law 3]
Respect the other tribes as your brothers and sisters.
Proposed by the Earth Spirit, it is important to respect the culture, territories, and behavior of the other tribes, regardless of natural tribe rivalries. To disrespect another tribe is dishonor on your own. Infringing on any of these divine rights is punishable by the leaders and spirits involved.
[Law 4]
Help the other tribes as your brother and sisters.
Proposed by the Water Spirit, it is important to aid the other tribes in order to ensure our survival. Recall Law 1, tribe and spirit above all else. Naturally, this follows after. Once one's tribe is taken care of they are encouraged to aid the others through goods and services. Helping one's fellow cat comes before helping other creatures.
[Law 5]
Life is valuable but each life is valued more over another.
Proposed by the Air Spirit, cats must be tended to in the following order. Elders, nursing queens, and kits take first priority. Second priority goes to apprentices. Third priority goes to able adults. This comes into play with feeding, general care, and which life should be saved over another. Recall Law 1, tribe and spirit above all else. One's tribes elders, nursing queens, and kits take priority over another tribe's.
[Law 6]
Wars are to be fought lawfully.
Proposed by the Fire Spirit, to propose war against another tribe must be done in a respectful way. The warring tribes must have good reason. It is preferred fights be settled verbally before they escalate but things such as territory disputes can be fought over. While the spirits respect one another they also prioritize cats of their sign over another spirit. Dirty tactics such as injuring elders, queens, and kits is dishonorable. Only able bodied adults shall participate in wars. War shall be fought honorably through battle with one's fellow cat. Cats are to stop fighting when their opponent cannot fight back. To kill a cat, even in war times, violates Law 2.
[Law 7]
Paw for a paw.
Proposed by the Void Spirit, to injure or cause discomfort to a fellow cat is punished by having the offending cat feel these discomforts or injury at the discretion of the injured party. For example, if a cat were to nick the ear of a fellow cat, the attacking cat will have their ear nicked at the discretion of the injured or face a consequence of equal weight(The cat that was originally injured or experienced a grievance can ask for another punishment that is equal to the harm that was caused). Judgement is laid down by the tribe's spirit and silver.
[Trials & Retribution]
Trials and punishments vary from tribe to tribe, and are typically carried out by the silver of that tribe, or respective tribes if more than one have been affected. Sometimes, crimes that affect all the tribes will result in a Trial of the Spirits.
This kind of trial contains the following things- witness or witnesses, a jury of the defendant's or defendants' peers, a representative that represents the defendant(s), a plaintiff (prosecuting party), a representative that represents the plaintiff, and a judge (the leader, spirit, or both). Once all evidence has been provided, retribution is assigned. Any cat who breaks the law of 7 has the right to ask for a trial- though it does not mean their request will be honored. Trial requests can only be approved by the leader or spirit. Examples of common retributions are as follows- tribe related community service, enactment of Law 7 (eye for an eye), imprisonment, temporary removal of powers, temporary removal of rank, temporary exile, permanent exile, etc.
How harshly your character is punished varies depending on your character's reputation as well as the degree of the crime- this can be as little as a warning, or as severe as execution. If your character plans on breaking the law, it's best to make sure you're following the Personal Plot Guide!
