Equipment is one of the few ways you can permanently upgrade your stats. We'll also cover temporary gains in consumables, items, and potions to be used in specific settings or for RP.
[Materials]
Materials can be earned a number of ways. You'll earn your first just by joining the group, when we give you the New Member Bundle! Other ways to earn materials are through participating in events, joining dungeons, completing the seasonal quests, doing your investigation rolls, etc!
[Rare Materials]
Rare materials are rarer versions of basic materials that count for 2 of the item instead of 1. For example, you normally need 2 silk to refine them into string; if you have one Stronger Spider Silk, you only need the one.
[Refined Materials]
Materials can be combined and crafted to make refined versions. For example, 2 pelts can be combined to create 1 leather. Most equipment pieces require a mixture of materials and refined materials to be crafted.
All materials, rare materials, and refined materials can be found on the Materials list.
[Equipment]
Equipment is the items your characters will wear in order to boost certain stats. Each piece of equipment is part of a set, with each set typically consisting of 2-4 pieces of equipment. Completing and equipping the full set gives you a set bonus. If your set is at full masterwork level, you'll gain an additional master set bonus on top of that.
Each character can hold up to 20 pieces of equipment in their inventory, but they can only wear up to 4 at a time depending on their age group:
Kits: 1 equipment piece and 3 starstones.
Apprentices: 2 equipment pieces and 3 starstones.
Adolescents: 3 equipment pieces and 3 starstones.
Adults: 4 equipment pieces and 3 starstones.
[Potions]
Potions can be crafted by anyone, but, most commonly, they are crafted by Light-Tribe's alchemists. They are one-time use items that can restore HP, remove status effects, boost stats, etc. during combat! They are incredibly useful in those situations, so make sure to check them out and bring them along on dungeons and events!
Some potions may need blessings or divinations to work, and we'll touch on that in the next section!
Potion recipes can be found in the Potions sheet!
[Consumables]
Consumables are one-use items that are typically ingested by characters in-game! They come in very handy during dungeons and events when brought along. While their effects are temporary, they can do great things, such as boosting certain stats, refunding HP, etc. If you're heading out on a dungeon, make sure to bring some along!
Consumables recipes can be found in the Consumables sheet!
[Blessings & Divinations]
All blessings and divinations are applied by Light-Tribers! Specifically, Primary-Lights are involved in blessings, while Secondary-Lights are involved in divinations. Blessings and divinations are applied to items, potions, equipment, etc. to provide additional benefits to the item of choice! This can result in passive effects that last over a certain period of time or may be one-use-only.
Blessing/Divination recipes can be found in the Potions sheet!
[Equipment Fineness]
Every piece of equipment is put into one of four categories- those being Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Legendary. Which category the piece you choose is in affects the overall level of power and bonuses any equipment in that category can apply to your character. For example, all common equipment will start off with a stat bonus of 1, while legendary equipment will start off with a stat bonus of 4.
However, all equipment can be upgraded a maximum of two times to improve its effects! Each time you refine an item, the equipment bonus goes up by 1 (meaning common equipment is 1 at crude and 3 at master, and legendary is 4 at crude and 6 at master).
Fineness is labeled as such:
Crude -> Fine -> Masterwork.
All equipment starts out as crude, with masterwork being the maximum fineness an item can achieve.
In order to refine an item, you must craft that piece of equipment again and then merge it with the one you have already. Alternatively, if you find yourself earning that same piece of equipment through an event, dungeon, etc., then you can simply merge it with your existing equipment without having to craft it again.
[Legendary Sets & Shards]
The exception to crafting is legendary sets. These are earned only a few specific ways (usually in dungeons, or during the Tribe Cup, etc) and can only be crafted using legendary shards. Legendary Shards are small fragments of legendary equipment. Shards can also be traded between members just like other items and equipment.
Once you've earned 10 legendary shards, you can note the group and combine them to make one piece of legendary equipment.
[Equipment Categories & Bonuses]
Common Sets: 1 at crude, 2 at fine, 3 at master
Uncommon Sets: 2 at crude, 3 at fine, 4 at master
Rare Sets: 3 at crude, 4 at fine, 5 at master
Legendary Sets: 4 at crude, 5 at fine, 6 at master
[Cosmetics]
Cosmetics are items that a character can wear, but otherwise have no effects. They are purely for art and flavor text purposes. Your character can have as many cosmetics as they want, as long as it's still implied that they were made/found in the Tribes if they're too fancy to have been found in the wilderness.
If you give your character a cosmetic item, and later decide you would like for it to have effects, you are more than welcome to craft a piece of equipment that matches the description of the cosmetic and use it for that! For example, Yui received a pair of gold earrings from her mother- these are cosmetic at first, but I later decide I want to make and equip Metal Earrings to her. Once I craft them, I can just use the same story/design for her gold earrings, while also boosting her stats!
[Crafting]
Crafting is very simple. All you need is the recipe you want to make!
To craft, first make sure you have all the necessary items, and then either send in a note (title should be something like "Crafting [username]"), or pop in to The Armory channel in the discord, and fill out the following form!:
Username:
Equipment/Material Crafting:
Recipe Ingredients:
Character Inventory (if applicable):
Equip Immediately?: (if your character already has 4 pieces of equipment equipped, please tell us which item(s) to replace!)
If we encounter any errors, we'll be sure to get them sorted out quickly!
[Crafting Ranks and Dismantling]
Dismantling is the process of breaking down items and equipment to salvage the materials they were made with. You can do this with almost every crafted item you own, even ones you earned in events or dungeons! The exception to dismantling is potions and consumables, since the items used are mixed beyond saving. Other than that, everything else is fair game!
Of course, dismantling comes with a risk. When an admin dismantles an item, they roll 1d100 for every material in the recipe. Every character has a natural 20% risk of each item failing- meaning, if you roll a 1-20 on any d100, a material will fail to be recovered in the process, and that material will be lost! If there are multiple different materials that went into the recipe, we'll let you pick which one you lost!
Thankfully, with the help of any character of a crafting rank (Artisans, Blacksmiths, Alchemists, Morticians, and Oracles), characters will get to use their bonus for a better chance to recover their item! Crafting ranks have only a 10% chance for material failure, and they can recover 1 material that fails out of an entire recipe! We always recommend using a crafter to help dismantle items, just in case!
That being said, to dismantle the item of your choice, please either send in a note (title should be something like "Dismantling [username]"), or pop in to The Armory channel in the discord, and fill out the following form!:
Username:
Equipment Being Dismantled:
Character Inventory: (which character is currently holding the equipment)
Material of Choice: (only for equipment with a player-choice recipe, such as the Remnant Earrings, which allow you to use one of several remnant items)
Crafter Used?: (include name of crafter if using one, so the bonus can be applied!)
[Collector Ranks]
Similar to crafters, collectors (Jewelers/Tracers/Miners) have their own unique bonuses unrelated to combat, that benefit them when finding certain items pertaining to their ranks!
Jewelers will find 2 more gemstones than usual.
Excavators will find 2 more ore than usual.
Tracers get to choose the material they earn on material rolls.
In other words, if you're doing your rolls and are on the hunt for these materials- see about using a collector rank!
[Member Proposals]
Step 1: Come up with a concept.
Have a really cool costume that you'd like to see become a set? Not quite satisfied with one of the stats in a pre-existing set? Feel free to suggest your own! Havensake allows members to suggest new equipment sets to be introduced into the system. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the help and support channel in the discord and an admin will help assist!
Before proposing a set, first you have to come up with a concept. Keep in mind that when creating a set, there are several factors that go into the process. Ask yourself these questions:
1.) Rarity - Is your set common, uncommon, or rare? It is important to have a balance across all of the sets so one type doesn't become too dominant. Certain rarities may be closed to suggestions until others fill up. You can check out the amount of sets in each category on the Recipe Sheet.
2.) Is your idea too similar to another set? Be sure to check if any of the other equiptments are what you are looking for! For example, we have a lot of different types of necklaces, armor, and weapons. While variety is important, keep this in mind when proposing new ideas. Be unique! Maybe your weapon is a specific type or metal, or your cloak is designed differently than others!
3.) Theme - Does your set have a specific theme, or is it a mess of random equiptments stuck together? Try to have the set concept make sense for a complete set. This can also help assist with which rarity category the set may belong in. Havensake allows many different types of themes for equipment pieces as long as they are allowed. Certain themes are off limits.
Themes that are off limits:
Equipment sets/pieces named after Tribes, Professions, specific Cats or NPCs, or that could be deemed offensive.
Common equipments tend to be either 2 or 3 piece sets.
Uncommon equipments tend to be 3 piece sets, with 2 piece sets being scarce.
Rare equipments tend to be 3 piece sets only.
Legendary equipments tend to be 3 piece sets, with 4 piece sets being scarce.
Only admins may propose legendary sets at this time, and are usually released during dungeons or major plot events to be given out as a reward.
Common equipments usually require simple recipes, consisting of common materials or refined materials. Maximum for refined mats is 2-3 and common mats is 5. Maximum mat types in a common set piece are 3 materials in total.
Uncommon equipments usually require simple to moderate recipes, consisting of common and uncommon materials or refined materials. Maximum for refined mats is 3-5 and common/uncommon mats is 8. Maximum mat types in an uncommon set piece are 3 materials in total.
Rare equipments usually require complex recipes, consisting of uncommon, rare, and refined materials. Common materials cannot be used here and must be refined. Maximum for refined mats is 6 and uncommon/rare mats is 10. Maximum mat types in a rare set piece are 4 materials total.
Do note that some of the current equipment pieces may have exceptions to this rule, and are judged on a case-by-case basis. Equipments are subject to change in the future for balancing purposes. If you are unsure if your set piece meets the requirements, feel free to ask!
Step 2: Submit a note to the group.
So, now you have your set and are ready to send in your proposal! How do you do that?
Simply note the group with this form filled out!
Note Title: (Rarity here) Set Proposal | Username
Username: (your username here!)
Set Name: (your set's name here!)
Link: (please link to an external sheet or doc with your set proposal)
If you are unsure how to create a sheet or doc to propose your set, you may fill out this form below and paste it directly into the note itself.
Equipment Set Name: (the name of your set)
Full Bonus: (the full bonus of your set)
Master Bonus: (the master bonus of your set)
Equipment Pieces: (list out each equipment piece with a description, alongside the bonus that they each provide as well as materials used/which crafter is needed)
Small reminder that once you send a note, please do not reply to it! An admin will get back to you to discuss any possible changes, which will be explained in detail below with what to expect. Thank you in advanced for your patience!
Step 3: The Review Process.
You've created your set proposal and sent it in. Now, what else is there to do? Unfortunately, not much until an admin gets back to you, but rest assured we are hard at work!
Please expect the review process to take at least a week as we go over and review your set.
All sets must be approved by three people. This is so everything is double-checked and discussed what the set may do mechanics-wise, whether it's appropriate for the category, etc.
If a set is deemed OK by three people, an admin will comment on the note and add the set to the recipes sheet. Then, it will be announced to the group as being available to create with credits to the original creator!
If a set still needs some edits, an admin will collect the corrections and list them to the member in a reply to the note. When a member is done editing their set, another review will take place and the process will repeat.
Things that may be changed during the review process include but are not limited to:
Set name, full bonus, master bonus, rarity, equipment piece names, equipment piece bonuses, crafting rank changes, descriptions, materials used, quantity of materials.
