Mokum

Mokum carrots are a prized hybrid variety known for their exceptional sweet flavor and crisp, tender texture, making them ideal for fresh eating as "baby" or full-sized carrots. They are best grown from seed and harvested young for optimal quality. 

Characteristics

• Flavor: Widely regarded as one of the best-tasting early carrots, with a high sugar content that stays sweet even in warm weather.

• Texture: The roots are described as crisp, juicy, and tender, though their delicate and brittle nature means they must be harvested by hand.

• Appearance: They produce slender, nearly coreless, deep orange roots that typically grow to about 6 inches long.

• Type: An Amsterdam/Nantes-type hybrid (F1) variety, suitable for bunching.

• Maturity: An early-season carrot, typically ready for harvest in 54-56 days.

•  Usage: They are excellent for fresh eating, snacking, raw preparations, and juicing, but are generally not recommended for long-term storage.
