Revenge and Justice

Even though revenge and justice do currently co-exist with each other, I believe that it is a difficult concept to take in. Revenge is typically an "act of evil." You shouldn't want to hurt someone/something who hurt you in the past. A theory I usually like to think about is "kill them with kindness." By people seeking out revenge, we're just creating an even more sick and cruel world. Often times, people who prefer revenge to other alternatives prioritize this idea of successfully receiving revenge. With this theory in mind, the two could not possibly co-exist.
On the other hand, justice being served isn't necessarily always a positive. It could, like all things, lead to negative occurrences. Justice is an act of receiving what is rightfully deserved on both ends of a conflict. Justice is a more civilized way of coming to a conclusion in a disagreement. There is more humility and gentleness involved.
All in all, I believe that revenge is almost an inhabitation of justice. And this is why I believe the two are able to co-exist in our world. Simply by the fact that revenge is simply justice taken into way harsher conditions. As a whole, of course the two can co-exist, it just takes levels of understanding to truly see why.
