Motivation and desires
Having taught in the traditional system using face-to-face, Valerie is afraid the country is going digital and he lacks the skills.
He also desires to update his knowledge in new fields of his discipline like digital/cyber anthropology so that he can participate in contemporary research
As he advances towards 60 years which is a retirement age, he wishes to learn open education skills so that by his age, he can overcome challenges of time and space.
Goals and expectations

Obstacles to their success
Lack of government policies on open education and open education practices
Fear of learning new technologies and making the colleagues accept to shift.
Fear that the students will resist his new approach because it requires a lot of commitment
Lack of funds to pay for services of learning how to use educational technologies

She is a Curator in Uganda Museum since the year 2000.

She is computer literate and conversant with use of computer programmes in windows and internet explorer. Uses teaching aid like projector to give information on PowerPoint presentation.

Motivation and desires
Wants to shift from manual to digital system of cataloguing the artefacts. Wants to avail a platform for digital museum that can be toured online and learn skills of how to do regular benchmarks and networks from other museums in developed countries.
Goals and expectations
Wants to use educational technologies to improve services in the museum
Wants to use the virtual space to expand services to users
Wants to free herself from office prison that she can even work home to allow her time for her family
Obstacles to their success
There is no such a course in Uganda to empower her with skills she needs. The manual database has finally been entered in the computer system but is only accessed from the desktop computer. There is a challenge of bureaucracy and lack of policy since the museum is government owned.
Unique assets
She is convinced it is time to shift from manual to digital services (open minded). The government sees tourism as a lucrative foreign exchange earner, thus will be positive to the innovation.
