Morphological
The Pekin duck (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus) is characterized by its white plumage with orange legs, feet, and bill. It weighs around 3-5 kg, with males heavier than females. The duckling is yellow in color.
Distribution
Originating from China, it was brought to the United States in the 19th century and has since become a popular choice for commercial meat production.

Cultural
In Chinese and Southeast Asian traditions, duck dishes are often served during festivals such as the Lunar New Year and as part of ritual meals that symbolize prosperity and abundance.
D. Any related scientific studies, such as ecology/conservation status/threats/diversity
Genetic diversity and breeding
Pekin ducks are widely used in commercial meat production. Scientists have been researching selective breeding that can lead to reduced genetic diversity compared to wild ducks.
