As Angela had experience using proto.io in the past, we decided to use proto.io and let her take the lead in creating our application prototype. We worked together in developing the different scenes and touchpoints, as well as giving each other feedback on how to improve the user experience
We managede to cross out 3 of the checklist provided in Session #5's online lesson,
Revenue: It increases revenue as we will be able to promote and sell our own events without the need for marketing intermediaries
Cost: Some our events will be hosted on zoom, which reduces cost as we do not need to rent a place to hold our workshops
Opportunities: We are able to add in other features to our application to better enhance user experience
This was the first draft of how our application prototype would look like. Through the development stage, there was a lot of changes that has been made to the initial idea. With all the features that were developed after analysis of our Persona, Value Proposition Canvas and Business Model Cavnas, we thought of draft of the flow of the touchpoints of our application.
>> With reference to this, we looked though of some of the touchpoints our persona would experience when using our application.
This section shows the development of setting up an account.
Homepage
First impression of the application, it should be able to convey the app's theme and goal at first glance
2. Signing up
Able to sign up using auto-fill (using social media or email)
Touchpoint: Happy as signing up is made easier
3. Terms of Service
Be aware of the conditions of using the application
4. Creating a profile
Able to personalise
Touchpoint: Sign up procecss is completed, able to explore other features of app
This was not initally in our first wire-framing. But after developing further our Business Model Canvas, we decided that one of our sources of revenue is from Subscription plans.
Pricing for the Subscription as mentioned in the BMC is as follows:
TISL Premium- $20/2 months
TISL Premium Plus - $45/2 months
For more information, go to our BMC >>
There was not much changes from the first draft to the final prototype apart from the questionnaire that will be touched in the next feature, "Unlocking Contacts"
While researching on our competitiors, we found an application that matches profiles based on some of their values and personalities.
Adding a questionnaire feature, and through using Artificial Intelligence, exploring profiles will be made easier.
It will recommend profiles that will more likely attract the user to unlock as they share common interests.
Another main feature of our application, this function aims to make thinking of dates and sending gifts to dates much more convenient.
We realised at the end of this project that we could have actually used this as a Revenue Stream to be in our Business Model Canvas. We can get commissions from the companies that we are displaying in our shopping feature as we are also acting as a marketing intermediary for them. This was definitely a missed opportunity where we could have developed our Revenue Streams to be better.
To send cakes, flowers, chocolates to partners without having to source out
So that users will not have to think of what to do on their dates, all information such as timing, how much it costs and menus will be shown here
ADDED FEATURE: Date Invitation
Apart from recommending date ideas, we wanted to make relaying the date information easier and less awkward for the user.
Initially, we did not have this idea. However, after analysis with our Value Proposition Canvas, we thought of this idea.
Our Persona is someone who is busy and has tight schedules. Hence one of our pain relivers was to make socialising easier.
Hence, we included the send invitation function, where with a click of a button, the user can send a date invitation to one of their contacts.
The person recieving the invitation will be able to access the reservation, view the menu and be aware of the address of the date's location. This function from finding date ideas to sending invites thus makes socialising much smoother.
This is the last main feature of our application. This is where users will be able to register for the events (Socialising events and Workshop) that we will be organising.
Purposes:
Socialising events:
Meet new people
Based on differet themes of interests
Workshops:
Improve themselve to become a better life partner
Socialising event for music enthusiasts, meet people who are also interested in Jazz
Socialising event for people who enjoys comedy and wittiness, for singles who want to find a partner with the same humour
For people who want to connect better with their partner
For people who wants to become a better partner and live a happier and longer relationship
Looking back at our persona, our target market are likely to be very busy people as most of them are already middle-aged. To make registeration and scheduling easier, we decided to add this function.
Adding a new feature that was not in our original idea
It will automatically be saved to the calendar, where user can track their registered events.
After finalising all our application functions, we were able to create the final wire-framing of the application.
You may zoom in to explore it and take a closer look of the wire-framing to see which actions lead to which page.
In the following interactive blog, it aims to showcase the main features and key functions of our application. I also discuss some of the pains and gains of the user of the application through these touchpoints.
This video showcases the main features of our application in summary, which is also found on our blog
Our final prototype in inaccessible due to it being done on a trial account, we aplogise that we are not able to let you try the full experience of our application. However, here is the TISL app live demonstration during the virtual exhibition presentation in class.
