Since it was our first attempt at BMC, we referred to Lecture 3 example of renowned company Spotify's BMC to get some pointers
However, as you can see, our initial content was on a surface level. I believe this was due to the fact that we were trying to fit Spotify's BMC into TISL
Before diving into other segments, our customer segments had to be determined. Based on our persona created and the data found on the right, we came up with the following customer segment:
2. Customer's worry: "Dating and committing to relationships at this age has its repercussions"
Solution: Includes workshops and seminars to help them gain insights. With the newfound insights, our customers would have the confidence to venture out and establish relationships.
Our customer's challenge: insufficient time to plan and prepare dates
Solution: TISL curates and provides fully prepped dates. Our customers would have an array of dates to choose from, according to their preferences. All they would have to do is attend the dates that they had booked. We got the inspiration from videos on TikTok.
Idea
Remarriages are likely to end up in another divorce -> To host a workshop /talk on "How to make your second marriage work"
3. Our customer's need: TISL's features and services are conveniently accessible to them
Solution: Create and develop an app that leverages our events and services. It is also time-efficient and serves as a one-stop destination: From weighing out potential options to establishing long-lasting relationships
Based on our previous event-related modules, we knew how to gain revenue from our dates and workshops. Unfortunately, we were relatively new on how to monetize the TISL app. Therefore, we referred to similar apps like Okcupid and Tinder for ideas.
Based on our references above, we adopted selling subscription plans with exclusive app features as one of TISL's revenue streams. Additionally, we customized our subscription plans to cater to TISL and its customers.
Similar to other events specifically the ones with apps, we included possible costs that we will face throughout the process and production of TISL
These costs are from setting up the
Logistics for the dates,
Financing TISL's app development and
Marketing fees for TISL to reach our target audience.

Some last-minute changes in draft 3 (TISL BMC's final draft)
We realised that we should include a "Refund Policy" for the events, workshops and dates. This is because, based on our persona, our customers have unpredictable schedules and we do not want them to feel obligated in any sort of manner.
Added some pictorial examples of the curated dates. Allowing our audience to have a better vision of TISL's key activities
Lastly, we realised that it would be too much of a cost to independently fund all the key activities, hence we decided to add some sponsors for our curated dates.
