Big idea: Stick with it! When we stick with something, especially when it's hard,
our I CAN! Power grows stronger.
When have you had to persist or STICK with something that was hard? How did if feel?
What helps you keep going when you are facing a hard challenge or big mountain?
S tart with the first step!
T ake a break & try again!
I dentify someone and ask for help!
C elebrate small wins!
K eep asking: What's working & What's not?
Examples:
If you have been working on your math homework for a long time and are getting frustrated, you could TAKE A BREAK AND TRY AGAIN!
If the 5k is at the end of the season and you feel overwhelmed trying to complete such a long distance, you could START WITH THE FIRST STEP!
If you are trying to bake cookies but the batter is too gooey, you could, IDENTIFY SOMEONE & ASK FOR HELP!
When I say "Mountains" ..... you say "Mover"! Mountain........Mover!
Balloon Challenge (Need balloons and spinner)
In pairs, you will move as quickly as you can, side by side with the balloon between your shoulders.
When I yell "Stop" we will spin the "STICK" spinner and use that strategy to activate our I CAN Power!
Try moving in a different way, (crab walk, fast. slow, backwards, sideways.
Adding more people to the groups moving the balloon.
