I created this video in order to provide context and depth to the eFaculty Coach role at Tarrant County College for faculty and staff training.
Responsibilities: Video Development, Scripting, Instructional Design, eLearning Development
Audience: Tarrant County College faculty and staff
Tools Used: iMovie
Year: 2020
This video request was part of a larger team project that was used as an introduction and training aid for online virtual faculty. My portion of the project was to highlight best practices and overview the eFaculty Coaching role in a video format.
After assessing the needs of the client and determining the framework of the project, I began to script and storyboard the video. Storyboarding enabled me to map the elements and topics of the video and scripting was developed in order to ensure proper messaging was accomplished.
Once these steps were complete, I utilized an assistant, two cameras, and a makeshift teleprompter. iMovie was chosen as the recording media as this was the best choice given the equipment used for the project. Once the recordings were finalized, the video was edited and design elements were added in order to highlight specific parts of the training. The video was converted to MP4 format from iMovie and delivered to the client.
This deliverable was presented on time and within budget. Feedback from the client on this project was very positive, indicating a high level of acceptance of the end result.
For this project, I was able to utilize my knowledge and skills in storyboarding and scripting to create a simple, yet effective reusable training tool. Editing and processing using iMovie required some prior planning that was mapped in the storyboard. There are other examples of my work in video RLO development.
This short video was a project that was designed to utilized time-lapse and voiceover in order to tell a story. The video was captured and produced using iMovie.
