We, the Girls Build Los Angeles team, HERd, met every week on Friday on ZOOM. These virtual meetings were scheduled for 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM. Leaders of the chapter usually met a little earlier than the listed time to prepare, and sometimes even lingered behind to reflect.
Our chapters consisted of multiple committees and subcommittees. These divisions were created to distribute different responsibilities. Our committees focused on the main projects, which are all regarding self-defense and empowerment. While our subcommittees concentrated on supporting the committees and the website for the competition hosted by GBLA. Some specific examples are the following.
Our photography subcommittee took photos of different events so they can be highlighted on the website.
Our social media subcommittee managed our Instagram and TikTok to promote different events and connect with young women.
Our outreach and networking subcommittee contacted different organizations to collaborate on projects.
Our website subcommittee regularly updated the website with our projects.
