Google Slides is a cloud based presentation app from Google.
Google Slides is an online presentation and slideshow app, (similar to Microsoft PowerPoint) and because it is cloud based, more than one person can edit, comment and collaborate on the same slideshow at the same time.
What can I do with Slides?
Slides is great for creating simple presentations and slideshows. It is also a great way to create multi-page documents with lots of design elements.
When creating a new slideshow, the default setting is Presentation (ratio of 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10) for use on a a screen.
However, by selecting File > Page Setup you can select Custom and modify the page size to be more appropriate for printing.

There are a number of preset themes provided by Google for your presentations. You can change the theme by going to Slide > Change Theme.
The use of these themes is not recommended except in an emergency due to their basic nature. You can find more creative examples of templates on website such as slidescarnival.com.
When it comes to visuals, remember that 'less is more'. A clean slide will be more impactful than an overly fussy design template.
By editing the slide master, you can create design elements which are locked to each page. This is ideal for creating backgrounds for both print and screen based designs.
To edit the Master Slides, go to Slide > Edit Master
The Explore tool helps you to build slideshows through combining elements on your slide. This can be a useful way to create slideshows quickly, or get design ideas.
To use the tool, go to Tools > Explore or click on the Explore icon when it appears at the bottom of the slideshow.
Your slides should attract attention and keep the viewers engaged! Add images, video clips, audio, shapes and tables to the slide by going to the Insert menu.
Write what you want to say in the Speaker Notes below the slide, while keeping the slide itself clean and clear.
Presenter View
When you are ready to present, choose Presenter View from the drop down arrow next to Present. This will create two windows - one for your screen, and one for the screen you are presenting on!
Transitions and effects between slides should always be used sparingly. The slides behind you should be a visual aid for the audience and should be used to maintain interest.
To manage transitions (between slides) and animation (of objects), go to Slide > Transition
Invite your presentation audience to ask you questions while your slideshow is running. In presentation mode, click Q&A to turn on Audience Questions.
Your audience will see the link to ask questions.
These will appear in your presenter view.
If you have used Slides to create documents for printing, you may need to download them before printing them. Single page documents should be downloaded as PNG or PDF files, while multi-page documents should be downloaded as PDF. Go to File > Download As to prepare your documents for printing.
