Ocean Currents

This is a representation of the ocean currents in the Pacific Ocean. All our weather is generated here. During normal seasons, the current carries warm water to the west. During times of disruption, the current reverses. If the current is dumping heat energy to the North, then we are in a warm cycle, like has happened for the last 20 years or so. If this changes, then the heat goes south, and the north freezes. A drop of water carries 4000 times the heat energy than a drop of air. If the air is moist, then it carries about 100 times the heat energy of dry air. All heat energy is shuffled around the Earth by ocean currents, and tropical moist air plumes generated from the oceans.

These are the tropical air plumes generated by ocean heat. The chart shows the potential precipitation, provided the warm air hits some cold air. All weather for the Earth is carried out of the tropics by these plumes. The weather people don't do 'energy' so their world is all 'highs' and 'lows'. They also enjoy the fantasy that the jet stream is a force, rather than just a shadow between cold and warm, moist air.
