When Gene Bernshtam isn’t working or restoring automobiles, he can be found either in the gym or at home, lifting weights. It’s one of his favorite hobbies, and for a good reason. Gene truly believes that his health and fitness levels have a profound impact on what he does in the other aspects of his life.
However, Gene Bernshtam doesn’t work out every single day. He follows a schedule wherein there are days wholly devoted to cardio. During such days, he burns as much fat as he can and strengthens his heart and lungs. And while the treadmill is usually the cardio machine of choice, he shares some other exercises people can do to break the monotony of the treadmill.
First and on top of this list is swimming. Swimming is arguably the greatest exercise known to man. It works the entire body, all muscle groups, the heart, the lungs, and the mind. It’s low impact, which means swimming isn’t hard on the joints. The only drawback with swimming is that not everyone has access to a swimming pool.
Next up, Gene Bernshtam recommends boxing. It’s a great stress reliever and can burn fat like nobody’s business. A two-hour boxing session will take people through several rounds of cardio.
Finally, Gene mentions cycling. Cycling is a lot like running but without the high impact on the joints of the feet and knees. For gym-goers, spinning classes are a whole heap of fun. For those who prefer cycling outdoors, it is always a fun adventure.
