Aside from the real estate biz, Gene Bernshtam is also known as a car enthusiast. In fact, he even believes that his astuteness in auto-collecting complements his work in real estate. But, there are times when he wants to take things slowly, enjoying the simple and the ordinary, like watching a film at the cinema. Here are some of his favorites and the automobiles that made these films extra special.
Lexus 2054 (Minority Report, 2002)
Fans would simply recall that scene where John Anderton, played by Tom Cruise, attempts to escape his enemies inside a factory for automated vehicles. It was at the assembly line where Anderton and Department of Justice agent Danny Witwer (Colin Farrell) fought each other out while a Lexus 2054 was being stamped together.
1973 Ford Gran Torino (The Big Lebowski, 1998)
The slacker era will be incomplete without the mere mention of this film. Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, played by Jeff Bridges, only had one thing in mind: to vindicate his favorite rug which was urinated on by one of the thugs who broke into his house. He had to switch from his a Chrysler LeBaron to this 1973 Ford Gran Torino, which is a redesign of a 1972 model, in order to accommodate his bulky friend Mr. Walter Sobchak, played by John Goodman.
DeLorean DMC-12 (Back To The Future, 1985)
Everyone’s favorite futuristic car from the 1985 film Back to the Future is a regular among lists of the best car movies. And who wouldn’t love to be on this vehicle - a concept redesign of a DeLorean DMC-12, fueled by plutonium, travels back in time, and whose flapping doors would make for wings of a flying (though some say hovering) vehicle.
Gene Bernshtam has been a CEO of a number of companies.
