Career Assessments & Exploration Tools

Values-Based Assessment

Assessments that determine which careers might be best for a person based on their values. For example, job security might be at the top of the list for one person, while a regular schedule or excitement might be at the top of the list for others.

Interests-Based Assessment

Assessments that determine which careers might be best for a person based on their likes and dislikes. The Strong Interest Inventory is the best example of this type of assessment.

Abilities-and Skills-Based Assessment

These assessments are designed to help students identify what they are good at and what they enjoy.

Personality-Type Assessment

Personality assessments, when used in conjunction with assessments of values, interests, and skills, help students find a career that is suited to their characteristics, including motivation and needs.
