Hong Kong is an enticing city with palaces, shops, restaurants, and tea houses. Dr. Floyd, Passepartout and your team sit in a local tea house somewhat exhausted, yet preparing for the next leg of the journey.
"We will leave early tomorrow. A short stop in Yokahama and then a long journey across the Pacific." Dr. Floyd states in a matter of fact tone, snapping his pocket watch for punctuation. Everyone is in agreement a good nights sleep is in order.
As the group departs to their lodging, Passepartout's nerves about the long sea voyage are on her mind. She asks the proprietor of the tea house for an herbal tea to remedy her sleeplessness. Sipping the warm liquid, her mind begins to ease and the room begins to blur, the lights dim and go dark.
At 9:00am, the Tankadere steamer pulls away from the docks with Dr. Floyd, the dog Casper, your team but no Passepartout. Floyd, however, takes the disappearance of his valet with his usual calm, calling it “an accident.” "We will meet up again in Yokahama in just 2 days time."
Arrival at Yokahama was without delay yet there is still no sign of Passepartout. Floyd is tempted to send a search party back to Hong Kong but there is little time to organize. The next ship to catch is the General Grant, a large paddle wheel boat that can cross the Pacific in 21 days. You all must be on it, with or without Passepartout. The decision is made to continue the quest.
Crossing the Pacific is a feat all its own. During the crossing, you'll have time to develop a lesson that brings together much of what you have practiced with FCPS Portrait of a Graduate. Take a look at your suitcase now. (Yes, it has been packed again so please check your team drive.) You now have Slides, Drawings, Forms and Spreadsheets all included. These core tools are excellent to get your team started in developing a lesson that includes a Portrait of a Graduate attribute.
