I have developed a number of new wagon kits which are available now -- www.stevegoldingmodels.com has all the details of those below and my existing range -- all are 10mm /ft scale.
I have designed them to be as simple to assemble as possible, with all components having slots for simple fitment. They have been aimed at everyone from beginners to the expert builder, enabling everyone to have high detail smooth running wagons at a reasonable price. When lockdown and time permit, I will be adding film sections to my web page, showing beginners how to paint wagons, and weathering techniques for the more advanced.
The new wagon kits are --
LNER / BR Blue Spot Fish Van. These ran later as BR Express Parcels Vans --- Kit @£85 each
Four different versions of the 16 ton mineral wagon - Kits @ £75 each
Single door
Single Door with Top Flap
Single Door with Sealed Top Flap
Iron Ore Tippler
All of the above are simple to assemble resin kits that come complete with Wheels, Compensation Unit, Sprung Buffers, 3 link couplings, and transfers.
The Fish Van also has a pre- cut pre- rolled Brass rolled and the Mineral Ore wagons are complete with load bed and "coal " load.
I am also in the middle of developing in 10mm/ft scale:
GWR Hawksworth County locomotive kit
Class 37 - Diesel Locomotive kit
Class 58 - Diesel Locomotive kit
The GWR County is being designed as an etched brass kit made as straightforward to assemble as possible. I am developing this to have a resin firebox and resin cylinders - with the boiler, smokebox and cab roof all pre-rolled. I am also looking to use a laser cut steel chassis, connecting and coupling rods - no layering of etches. This should make assembly so much easier for the builder, and hopefully attract those that think they couldn't build a locomotive to perhaps tackle it - as there is no greater pleasure than saying this is something i built myself.
The 2 Diesel kits - also 10mm/ft - will be resin castings and etched brass detailing. Following customer advice from my Class 20/3 kit the 2 new Diesels will be designed to incorporate Foss Motors as standard. I am designing the 37 as a " blank Canvas " bodyshell that allows the builder to choose which variant and era they wish to model the locomotive in - using a variety of different etch grills, doors, etc. --- the only exception would be the very early version, that didn't have a cut-back buffer beam, but this only affects a handful of locomotives.
I am hoping to have all three Locomotives available before the end of 2021 if time allows.
I am always available to offer advice or assistance for those building any of my kits.
