Kevin West is pleased to announce his new project, KBW KITS with a new range of laser cut wooden rolling stock body kits and laser cut steel parts for coach bogies and underframe detail.
LMS 42' BOGIE VAN – Diag 1870.
Detailed laser cut wood body kit. 10mm scale.
The model features an inner carcass using slot and tab assembly to provide a strong, square body and detailed outer overlay skins with etched doors. The roof assembly is designed to be removable to allow access to the inside of the model. Recessed door window droplets and interior window safety bars.
Kits require LMS 9’ Bogies, wheels, buffers, couplings, glazing, roof ventilators, adhesive and paint to complete.
£75 each plus £7.50 post and packing.
Our body kits are produced in association with Bowaters Models.
We are also introducing a range of laser cut steel parts for coach bogies and underframes.
Inner Bogie Frame Sets
Our first products are sets of laser cut steel parts to build an Inner Bogie Frame to suit the white metal bogie side frames supplied by G1MRA Sales. These parts will provide a simple, free running, compensated bogie.
Parts included in a set.
A set includes laser cut Inner Frames, End Stretchers and Bogie Centre parts to build 2 compensated bogies. All parts are profiled and finished with mounting holes to suit the white metal sides and fold lines where required. All holes are cut to the required clearance or tapping size (8BA & 10BA). The axle centre holes will suit either Slaters brass or Tenmille PTFE bearings.

KBW-B001 - 8‘ Fox Bogie.

Assembled frame fitted with a G1MRA Fox side frame.
KBW-B005 – GCR 10’6” Bogie. These are designed to be used with the Walsall Model Industries cast side Frames.
£20 per set. Post & Packing £2.
Complete GCR 10’6” Bogie using KBW-B005 frame kit, Walsall cast side frames and Slaters wheels and bearings.

Coach Couplings and Underframe Parts
KBW-C001 – Pin & Bar Couplings
A simple way to couple coaches, especially under a corridor connection. The double pin design also allow stock to be propelled without buffer locking. Each set provides 2 laser cut and pieces formed to shape. The pins can be M3 or 6BA screws (not supplied), the end holes require tapping to fit.
