Cape Gauge 1

The world's second most common gauge is 3' 6" which, using Gauge 1 track, works out at 1:24 Scale.

The Group is for everyone modelling the considerable number of these railways - many the Mainlines in their own country.

So far, modelling action has centred on:

South Africa

Mainly at the Centurion Society of Model Engineers, between Johannesburg and Pretoria. The Society has a large 7 1/4, 5 and 3,5 inch Railway, Boat Club as well as a RC Mini Truckers section.

We have get-togethers once a month, but we only set up the large 45mm layout once every three months, as we need to remove the track after each run due to theft.

While all 45mm models are welcome at the club, Cape Gauge 1 is just booming, occupying the layout during such runs.
