Castle Steam designs live steam boilers and fittings for locomotives, traction engines and stationary engines using 3D CAD throughout I have worked in 3D CAD first in Australia and now the UK since the early days of Solid Edge and MicroStation. My brother at Castle Instruments builds all of them using silver soldering.
Our locomotive boilers range from O gauge to 5” gauge and anything in between, often at no cost to the customer if there is a product at the end of it.
I generally design for both coal and gas fuels.
I also produce the manufacturing files for laser, waterjet, or 3D printed output, including metal parts for the model such as chassis parts, and lost wax casting files.
