The story, screenplay and novel for the feature film “The Wonder: Into The Rainbow” / 《奇迹：追逐彩虹》 was created, written and developed over a four year period by Robert Sidaway and Ashley Sidaway through their company Friendship Films.
The film was subsequently co-financed and packaged by Beijing Tianrun Media, ChnagYi Pictures and Friendship Films, and produced by Difei Zhou and Fiona Chen for Guo Dan of Beijing Tianrun Media.
After a three month Pre-Production period in Beijing (CN) and Auckland (NZ), filming started end of September 2015 in the coastal city of Qingdao.
The Chinese shoot lasted five weeks, and following this the cast and crew moved to Auckland for a further six weeks of shooting, wrapping Production in late December 2015.
After eight months of Post Production and the creation of the visual effects the finished movie was delivered at the end of 2016.
The film was produced on a budget of US$ 20 million with an international cast and crew.
