Scaffold 4 Success (S4S) - An Integrated Approach to Build Language, Literacy, and Academic Content Knowledge Simultaneously! Expand your repertoire of effective instructional strategies for language learners! Get a quick interactive taste of the key elements of the S4S approach, which is based on worldwide, seminal (and continuing) scholarly work related to integrated language development in preK-12 settings. Along with a quick view of the basics of S4S (scaffolding, P-I-E lesson design, and cooperative learning structures), you will see how three specific strategies (adaptations of poems/chants, comprehensible input charts, and the sentence patterning chart) can work together to optimize learning. Examples will be shared in English, French, and Spanish.
