My Age: 12
I have never worn glass shoes
But rather torn up sneakers
Too small
Too tight
Too broken
To fit
And I am still walking
I have never worn glass shoes
And sometimes no shoes at all
Carrying in my foot the tacks of the road
The splinters of struggle
The pebbles of the present
The scars of the past
And I am still running
I have never worn glass shoes
And yet I see the light at the darkest hours
In my great endeavor I still struggle
But I know that I will have someday worn those glass shoes
