The HL Essay asks you to think deeply about a literary work or non-literary Body of Work (BOW) that you have studied in class. You must create a "line of inquiry" (LOI) and see how this LOI is treated in the work under analysis - the essay can focus on literary or non-literary texts. The essay is between 1200-1500 words.

The HLE is worth 20% of your overall grade.
