The Members of Felician University IRB gather together at least twice a year and any time when a full board review is requested.
An applicant submits his/her application to one of IRB Co-Chairs. After a preliminary review, the reviewer decides whether the proposed research requires a full board review. If not, the proposal can be exempt from the full board review or reviewed in an expedited procedure (the The Review Levels). If yes, then the board members are informed and a meeting is scheduled. Because of the numerous duties and academic involvement of the board members, finding time that works for the majority may be a challenge. Also a thorough analysis of the submitted proposal and all attached documents require reasonable time. Thus, if your project requires a full board review, the process may take a few weeks.
The Felician University IRB was established in 2012 in response to increasing research projects involving human subjects.
