Original Song Artists

Many of the songs used on Fame were actually cover versions of other peoples songs. This was definitely more evident in the later years where a lot of popular songs of the day were used but it was commonly believed in the early years most of the music was written specifically for the show. However, choosing carefully from album tracks, B sides and singles that hadn't become hits gave that illusion.
