OUR SITE IS CURRENTLY A WORK IN PROGRESS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE
Colorado bares with it a smattering of civilization, though with a scar and vaccume of power left by the scourge of the Legion's Campaign in the region. Here we will discuss some of the further abroad sections of the pre-war state not YET seen. Notably Colorado wasn't hit very hard by the nuclear Armageddon due to the Anti-Missile Defense System of Mount Cheyenne - posters talking about what still can be found scattered around with the slogan 'Keeping Colorado Colorful - Forever!'. Due to this when the nuclear winter thawed, some life slowly began to regrow in the Centennial State.
The Pre-war state capital was one of the few locations not spared from the impact of nuclear weapons, though it was only one and on it's outskirts it still damaged much of the building even beyond it's crater. Denver, half blown down in it's form, was also laden with many military checkpoints, robots and a very well funded police force from before the war. The city was under martial law before the fateful day of the bombs and a mixture of their police force and national guard stationed there to keep the peace due to an outbreak of the new plague.
In the years after this the survivors of the city would be of many of the remaining populace for some many years. Some of these people would later move to Colorado Springs via following the highspeed rail track that was built before the war.
As such those who stayed behind in Denver tried their best to survive and thrive in their new city. The city's police acting as a governing body for a time but in the decades slowly the people there began to devolve in warring tribes, with those bonding with the hundreds of mongrel dogs the city bared finding the most success - calling themselves the Hangdogs. That was until the arrival of the legion's fist in 2275...
The fighting was long and the cost of taking Denver steep, however in the end the Legion under Lanius took the city and bent the hangdogs, along with any other survivors in the city. It is said the monster of the east was beginning to look south towards Colorado Springs but was called back to Hoover Dam by his master Caesar, only leaving a small detachment of men in the city. A place now called 'The City of Dogs' known for it's namesake hounds and occassional dust storms blowing in from the plains.
In the years since and with Caesar's death the detachment sent by Lanius left Denver in pursuit of their own ambitions and the city was left to be claimed by it's namesake - now packs of feral hounds dominate the streets, some even lead by police cyberdogs & the city's few remaining and new sights of civilization are forced to live on the rooftops away from their grasping maws.
The city itself is slowly collapsing, filling the streets with massive piles of lumber and even streets caving in in places, due to the weathers of time on an already damaged place. The pre-war subway tunnels, underground automation routes and sewers making for a good means of travel between areas that aren't connected by post-war built 'skyways' - bridges and routes made from salvage far above the streets. The dust storms that Lanius were met with are uncommon now and the green that covers Colorado has spread to the place in the recent the decades since.
✦ Boulder ✦
The city just to the northwest of Denver proper, known as Boulder, was a center of scientific research in the region due to it's prime location of nearby military importance. Rumor even has it the first set of prototype power armor was built at the West-Tec facility here. Along with such it is a said a small version of a city of tomorrow was built here in the form of a scientific complex known as 'Boulder Dome'. It's said this complex was built in the city only partially due to it's reputation however and also partially as an apology by the US government for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Leakage Incident of 2271.
Though due to this reputation a good amount of missiles were targeted at the area during the war. The Mt. Cheyene Anti-Missile defense battery was able to stop any nuclear devices from hitting the area but not all of the non-nuclear ones - as such much of the pre-war city was left in ruin.
✦ Fort Collins ✦
The military base and surrounding city of Fort Collins is where much of the NORAD & Space Command duties that previously were handled by Mt. Cheyenne complex were moved to in 2275. As such Fort Collins was a prime target for the Chinese. The Mt. Cheyene Anti-Missile defense battery was able to stop most of the oncoming projectiles but a few smaller ones got through the net and a large amount of the larger nuclear weapons were stopped by only a hair, blanketing the area in radiation. While the couple centuries since the war has made the place not very irradiated anymore, the large amount of it's populace who were ghoulified have since turned mostly feral.
✦ Circle Junction ✦
Once a large tribal settlement within the confines of pre-war Denver's boundaries home to the Iron Rivers Tribe, it fell under the sphere on influence of the legion - though was not conquered. This tribe, not originally from the area but instead a split off of another tribe, was at war with the Hangdogs and was convinced to willingly join the legion to help fight against this shared enemy. In the end their tribal identity was destroyed by Lanius and now the place sits largely empty with only one old woman left to remember any of it's history.
The Pre-war city of Colorado Springs & nearby Mount Cheyenne were, for a time, a shining beacon of civilization left untouched by the nuclear war. Norad's missile defense system shielding the region. The local Military Remnant began to steps of stabilizing the region, though this would not become fully done until after the threat of the Calculator. Lead by Norad's General Edward Warner & the aforementioned Governor Jacob Thorpe they organized national guard, active duty & police personnel to keep the region safe and stable. They lasted for nearly a century after their founding... until the outbreak of 'Red Fever' tore it all but fully away.

A region of Colorado that escaped Nuclear hellfire, not because of the Mount Cheyene's Anti-Missile system but instead because nothing was fired in it's direction. This national park, seeing the fall of yet another civilization like it had before bore it's bounty to those who fled to it - Many tribes forming with it's borders.
This area began the home to not only tribes of survivors of the Great War but also countless types of post-nuclear creatures that also called the region it's home. The largest settlement of the region could be found in the ancient cave dwellings city that long pre-dated the united states, with representatives of many of the larger tribes meeting here as a sort of middle ground. The place named Pueblo by the locals.
This region was a prime target for the eyes of Caesar's legion as Lanius moved through Colorado. Many tribes fell to his ranks and many more went into hiding to avoid such a fate. The city of Pueblo fell under Legion rule and nearly all the fighters made into soldiers for the legion, with those left behind to bare new children to share the same fate - born to legionnaires left in charge as the main force went north.
One of the most powerful tribes of the area had briefly fought against the legion, bearing in their hands energy weapons and painted with numbers upon their skin. This tribe, known to others as the Cyphers were few in number and when the raids grew they seemed to vanish into the wilderness, disappearing from even scouts sent to find them by Lanius later.
After Caeser's death however things somewhat went back to normal. The ruling Centurion left in charge was fought against, eventually his own right hand killing him and taking his remaining forces from the city in an offering of peace, eventually being invited back as their own tribe to join the council. Some old grudges hold but things are somewhat peaceful now. Pueblo sits as a bastion for the local tribes once more, many tribes returned to their old ways and it's even rumored an old Spanish Mission has become home to refugees from the south. But the years of domination and removal of many of the area's hunter's has left the mutated population of animals grow substantially, making the area even more dangerous - especially with the rumors of Deathclaw sighting in the region.
The area just west of Aspen is filled with ruins of past people's and myths of what could be hidden there. The area was largely stripped of these people's as the Legion passed through and went north around the mountains to get to Denver (this path luckily being what saved Aspen & it's surrounding area from the eyes of Lanius). It has been years since that time however and some new and old have come to the area, along with their own myths and theories.
✦ Grand Junction ✦
Once the largest settlement in Colorado, it was ravaged by the legion and while many of it's inhabitants fled and survived, many still were taken as slaves to Caeser by the hands of Lanius. Set around the pre-war city of the same name, this settlement was set as a city of the legion where slaves would create tools of war for the legionaries. However with the death of Caeser this place would fall into a strange half state where it is still manned by legionaries and their commanding Centurion but they currently don't call themselves members of the legion - almost acting as a flagless military who has not stripped themselves of the gear of their old ways.
✦ Ouroboros ✦
Once a home to many people, chiefly among them a raider clan known as the Hounds of Hecate who worshiped a new version of a god of old. This group, with ties originally to the Vipers and the others who lived here were destroyed and enslaved by the push of the Legion north a pass to get them to Denver. It is said after the death of Caesar & the fragmenting of the Legion the few survivors of this tribe have returned to rebuild their homes. Though they're few in number and struggling to make ends meet.
✦ The Nursery ✦
A myth among the wastelands of Colorado, a place of green beyond even more than the state provides. It is said to be bountiful in it's natural wealth and even Lanius spent some months trying to find it, but to no avail. A few strange people say to be from that, calling themselves 'The Foresters' and bearing armor made of leaves, wood and greenery - it only adds to the mystery of this legendary place.
✦ Burham Springs ✦
A horrid wreck of pre-war greed gone amuck. It was a pre-war mining town that has been now burning for decades. Only a small handful of people continue to linger here, the constant smoke, fire & rads making a gas mask almost mandatory. Stories tell of horrible monstrosities lurking in the shaded corners of this place and it's best to avoid.
✦ Glenwood Springs ✦
A small town set at the junction of three major roadways down Highway 82 from Aspen. A small settlement can be found here that was the hid as the legion neared and could be the reason they didn't push further toward Aspen, seeing the place looking abandonded. In the years since this however they have returned and prospered some, getting a good influx of traders on their way through or from Aspen.
In more recent years a seemingly self-contained Paramilitary Group has set up here, seemingly with a keen interest in watching the movements and businesses of the nearby Legion Fragments who have settled the region.
