Marching Band

Fairview's marching program is supported by a host of professional marching band instructors as well as parent volunteers. The Fairview Marching Band finished 2nd in 2011, 3rd in 2019, 2018, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012, 4th in 2021, 2009 and 2006, 5th in 2017, 7th in 2010 and 2007 and 8th in 2022. In addition, they received the award for Best General Effect at the 2011 state competition and the most improved band award at the 2009 Metro Regional Competition.

Practices

FMK begins their season with two weeks of Band Camp, beginning the first Wednesday of August, and ending the day before school starts (Mondays-Fridays) from 8:45am - 4:00pm. They continue to rehearse every Monday and Wednesday evening throughout the season from 5:00-9:00pm. Beginning in September, Saturday practices will become more regular. There is no practice Labor Day Weekend.

Competitions and Trips

FMK usually competes in 5 competitions during the Fall and performs at selected home football games. The CBA State Competitions takes place end of October - early November. FMK also marches in the Lights of December Parade in Boulder every year. The marching band traveled to Disney World and Universal Studios in 2022 where they will marched in the New Year's Magic Kingdom Parade, as well as participate in other clinics.
