Goodstart Early Learning Bayswater north Goodstart Early Learning center also considers establishing a good community an essential aspect of development and this is explained in Outcome 2 of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The consequence of this is that, children are supposed to develop a sense of belonging, connectedness and the awareness of their location in the world around them. Goodstart helps children to produce relationships with their peers, educators, and families through the creation of opportunities that allow children to interact with others and develop the necessary social skills (Nolan, 2015). One of the main methods through which Goodstart enhances a sense of community is by means of collaborative play. Children also get involved in activities that teach them how to share, negotiate and collaborate to achieve a common objective. As an example, in art activities, children can work in a group to develop a mural or group painting, and this helps not only to promote creativity but also to develop teamwork and communication. This practice is consistent with the idea that learning is a social process and it takes place when interacting with others.
Besides, group discussions and circle time activities are also indispensable to make children realize the need to cooperate with each other and respect others. These group activities will allow children to hear each other and learn to share their ideas and learn each other. Teachers stimulate the active engagement of children so that each of them has an opportunity to make a contribution and be heard. This exercise establishes trust among the members, which makes the children feel included as a part of a bigger community. The other significant factor in the creation of community at Goodstart is the issue of family involvement. The role of families in learning process is very important, and Goodstart will do everything possible to make parents and caregivers involved in the education process. Teachers constantly interact with the parents, keeping them updated on the progress of their child and inviting them to attend the events, workshops, and celebrations at the centre. Goodstart helps to create a sense of community by establishing good relationships with families and hence ensuring that children learning is supported at both the centre and at home (Marotz, 2019).
Also, Goodstart adheres to the policy of inclusive practices, i.e., all children with their background and abilities are equal members of the community. The centre holds on to diversity and ensures that the children are respected and given a chance to give their full contribution in group work. It will be needed in the knowledge development of children regarding the larger community and equipping them to live in a diverse society. Lastly, the development of Outcome 2: Community is also actively facilitated at Goodstart Early Learning Bayswater north Goodstart Early Learning center by the means of group conversations, collaborative games, family involvement and inclusive activities. Such activities enable children to develop a good sense of belonging, respect to others and the realization of their position in the community that is the fundamental skills in their life long learning and growth.
