Goodstart Early Learning Bayswater north Goodstart Early Learning center is a warm, nurturing and dynamic environment in which children learn and grow. The center has been providing play-based learning, which involves children getting their hands dirty in play that helps them to develop holistically. This will be in line with the EYLF, which focuses on the necessity to build a sense of belonging, being, and becoming in early childhood education. During my placement at Bayswater North Goodstart Early Learning Center, I Sangam Lamichhane, Student ID IKO3002761 I have also been able to collaborate with skilled teachers and support the learning of the children. Some of the activities that I have been engaged in include planning learning experiences, making observations, and facilitating the emotional and social development of children. By so doing, I have been able to understand better the role of an early childhood educator and how to establish an environment that promotes individual and group development.
The portfolio contains my reflections on learning, observations of the kid’s interaction and development, and insights into the way I have interacted with the various aspects of professional practice. These areas include my perception of professionalism, playing pedagogies, and how I have contributed towards having a respectful and inclusive learning environment. In the same portfolio, it will also be clear that I have been exposed to and that I have been reading up on the national curriculum frameworks and that I have been thinking about what I can do in future to be a better educator. I will also provide illustrations of documentation methods that will be employed to track and assess learning of children. These thoughts and insights are included in the process of becoming an educator and being capable of meeting the developmental needs of the children I am caring (Arthur et al., 2020).
One of the main tasks of this portfolio is to show how I have grown personally in regards of respectful relations with children, families, and colleagues. This includes the enhancement of cultural competence, the consciousness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander worldview and diversity and inclusion. Examples of how these aspects are included in my practice and the way they assist the children to learn and feel better will be provided in the pages below. Thanks, and welcome to my Digital Professional Experience Portfolio. I am hoping that it would provide an understanding of my journey as an early childhood educator, and I am eager to know how I will still grow and acquire new skills and knowledge in the future in this occupation.
